Gum treatment
Gum disease makes gums bleed, swell or pull away from the teeth. Deep cleaning and good home care can stop it and help save loose teeth.
- How long does it take?
- 1–2 visits, 45–60 minutes
- Does it hurt?
- Numbed for deep cleaning
- What about recovery?
- Gums may feel tender for a few days
You might need this if
- Bleeding while brushing
- Red, swollen or tender gums
- Bad breath, receding gums or loose teeth

What happens, step by step
- 1
Measure the gums
A gentle probe measures the pockets around each tooth.
- 2
Numbing
The area is numbed so deep cleaning is comfortable.
- 3

Tartar is removed from below the gum line and the roots are smoothed.
- 4
